Gaitway High School

Gaitway High School at Fieldstone Farm TRC is a public high school that offers an alternative environment for students who have not found success in a public high school setting. Gaitway High School is administered by the Geauga County Educational Service Center and students receive a full academic curriculum and a vocational education program with an emphasis on experiential learning as well as emotional health and wellness.

The school’s location at Fieldstone Farm TRC offers students unique opportunities to learn from horses, experience classroom theory with real-life application and to have the additional support of the Fieldstone Farm TRC community of staff and volunteers.

Construction Project

Construction on the north end of the building is underway which will supply much-needed permanent space for this school.

The layout designed by architect Steve Ciciretto, includes two classrooms, a teacher’s office, a conference room, additional bathrooms and a central gathering area.

Unique features include many windows that provide a source of natural light throughout the building and a view of the pastoral scenery. The common area provides space for unstructured gathering and informal discussion. Interior design will allow teachers to offer individualized or small group instruction.

Drake Construction Company is managing the construction. The project is scheduled to be open for the 2008-’09 school year.
